THE COMPANY

My client is a progressive and highly successful global food business, with UK-based manufacturing producing some of their well known, market leading, premium branded and own label food products.

This London-based UK business unit is on course to double its sales over the next three years, and will continue to invest in new product innovation and brand marketing as well as coaching and developing the commercial team.

THE ROLE

As part of their investment for growth strategy, the Managing Director is looking to appoint an additional head to the Foodservice Sales Team who will focus on further building their brand in targeted major end user accounts and national route to market wholesalers. Key objectives will be to research, strategically plan and negotiate major account trading proposals focused on achieving new customer listings and product distribution gains across their multi product category branded range of added-value, premium products.

THE CANDIDATE

To qualify for this position you will need to demonstrate a strong working knowledge and understanding of foodservice sector route to market strategies. You will also need to clearly demonstrate how, and at what level of branded product, you have achieved profitable sales growth in recent years within a well known food or drink brand-led business. Your national account management experience should ideally include major end user accounts and one of the foodservice national wholesalers.

With well-honed negotiation, business planning and influencing skills, you thrive on taking responsibility and ‘hunting’ new business development opportunities. Above all, you are highly personable yet exceptionally driven, with a determined approach to achieving both your business and career development objectives. You also have the ability to ‘hold the floor’ and to influence the business agenda both internally and externally.
