About us

We are a highly successful, US-headquartered global confectionery business with a UK-based international office. The UK-based International Commercial Sales & Marketing Team, who together with support functions, control business within all international markets outside of The Americas and Canada have seen massive growth over the last 4 years across all regions.

The UK business unit has grown substantially year-on-year, delivering double-digit growth and outperforming the wider confectionery market and will grow by another 10% in 2019. This success is the result of significant focus and investment in new product innovation, together with distribution-building initiatives across all channels. This is supported by investment in trade media and consumer insights — delivered by an intensely passionate, high-performance, UK commercial team.

 

The role

As a result of this continued, strong performance, we are looking to invest in further strengthening our commercial team with the appointment of a highly ambitious Business Development Manager. The role reports directly to the UK Sales Director, who will provide strong leadership and coaching which, together with your strong drive for results, will help you progress up into a NAM-level position. Responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of existing and targeted new wholesale and RTM accounts.

 

About you

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual who has been well trained and has developed a sales career in FMCG with a recognised branded business, progressing up to a RAM, KAM or NAE role, including a basic amount of head office customer management and negotiation. With a strong understanding of modern account management, you are comfortable with using category-led data analysis to build customer presentations, presenting and negotiating new listings and/or product distribution extensions, as well as brand promotional planning activities.

Above all, you are highly ambitious with a strong desire to both listen and learn, whilst taking the lead with customer development and making things happen. Your natural style is highly personable, with the ability to build effective internal and customer relationships that you can influence to positively effect the business agenda.
