THE COMPANY

While the challenges of the 2020 Covid pandemic have been tough for us all, the new year will still present excellent FMCG commercial career development opportunities, and here is one that could just be right for you!

Our client is a highly reputable, UK-owned, £500m category-leading food business, with a combination of household brand-leading and retailer-brand products which they sell across all trade channels. Their core focus is within the top 6 grocery retail multiples with a future strategic vision to invest and step change sales growth through consumer insight-led product innovation. As part of this investment for growth plan, they are also seeking to appoint a dynamic, forward-thinking Senior National Account Manager who will manage 2 of their major grocery retail multiple accounts.

THE SNAM OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to a Commercial Controller, you will assume full P&L control of 2 major multi £m customers, requiring you to work in close collaboration with all key stakeholders but especially category, finance and supply chain management colleagues.

Key responsibilities will be to manage the customer growth strategy, including ranging and distribution activities, promotions and P&L financial performance, whilst ensuring that key customer relationships at all levels are nurtured and effectively managed.

YOUR CAREER JOURNEY SO FAR?

You are a driven individual who has shaped your FMCG sales career roadmap by climbing up into National Accounts where you are currently managing a top-6 grocery retail account with either a selection of product categories, OR you are the lead NAM managing the total account business P&L. Having successfully worked through the usual ‘commercial negotiation dogfights’, at interview you can confidently and proudly present your commercial success around product listings, JBP process, price increases, product distribution gains, NPD launches etc., including ‘how’ you deployed your commercial intelligence to develop and negotiate profit-focused solutions.

You are an outgoing character with ambition, drive and energy with the personality to ‘hold the room’ and influence commercial plans both internally and externally at all management levels.

The Commercial Director is looking to appoint an individual who can both perform in this role but also present the clear intellectual capability and ambition to develop up into a more senior role in the next 18/24 months… So, this is a real career-shaping opportunity for you in 2021.
