UK £100M ORGANIC FOOD CO. — NEW CONSUMER BRAND TEAM

COMMERCIAL EXECUTIVE — Wholesale & Specialist Retail

Flexible working: South west based — ideal M4/M5 Bristol

Attractive basic & benefits

THE COMPANY

This highly successful, £100m UK market leading organic food supplier, is led by an experienced FMCG industry Executive Management Team, who have strongly developed the business over the last 25 years, establishing major contracts with a number of the large food manufacturers.

With food sustainability and environmental challenges increasingly taking centre stage for both food manufacturers and consumers, organic food production is once again proving itself to have many of the answers for both UK and international markets.

Having completed a senior level strategic review of the business and current consumer food trends, they are now looking to invest and grow their business model with the launch of new added-value organic food brands both here in the UK, and in a core international market in the USA. Having completed consumer research, product and brand development, they are now looking to further invest with the appointment of some additional sales and marketing team members including a Commercial Executive – Wholesale & Specialist Retail.

These are really exciting times for this added-value, premium-product business, and this role represents a fantastic opportunity for a bright up-and-coming individual to really be at the centre of the business growth action, and to make their mark in helping the business achieve its sales growth targets.

THE ROLE

Reporting and working closely with the Head of Business development, key responsibilities will be to sell and achieve new organic branded product listings within strategically targeted Wholesale and Specialist Retail accounts. This will involve further building on existing account relationships, as well as contacting and influencing new accounts.

You will be fully supported, coached and trained on the organic market dynamics in order to develop your knowledge so that you are confident and in control in selling the new added value brand.

ABOUT YOU

Suitability for this role is more about attitude, together with your desire to grow and develop your career within a dynamic, growing organic food business. You may be a recent agricultural graduate looking for your first career move, or currently working in a Territory Manager or Business Development Manager role in a branded FMCG food or drink business within the wholesale channel.

With a basic understanding of selling FMCG brands and a focus on the classical business objectives, you are now looking to step up your career to the next level, managing regional head office wholesale and specialist retail accounts. Key objectives will be to open and develop new accounts, driving and negotiating new brand listings, store distribution, display and promotional activities… exciting stuff!

The role will be based in the south west, with a modern balance of office and home working, plus those all-important customer ‘selling’ meetings!

As mentioned, your attitude and personal style will be key to this appointment working as part of a new and growing organic-branded sales and marketing team — so come and show us what you can do!

We’re looking forward to your application and discussing this outstanding career-shaping opportunity further. Please apply to mark@smithcarey.co.uk quoting reference MS/2288, together with your CV and benefits package details.
