Our client is a highly successful division of a major FMCG food and drinks company operating across a number of diverse categories. The company has a growing presence in the Premium Soft Drinks category with their market leading brands.

The business has some really exciting future growth plans for both existing and new brands, supported by significant marketing investment. They are now seeking a Customer Development Executive to join their national field sales team in the Midlands. The job role is field-based but candidates should ideally live within a reasonable commute distance to Birmingham or be prepared to relocate to this area. You must also possess a valid UK driving licence.

The Role

The CDE role will have direct responsibility for developing the company’s premium drinks brands in a broad mix of accounts, ranging from managed retail groups, wholesalers and independent operators such as on-trade pubs and bars, 4 & 5 star hotels, restaurants, quality cafés, premium leisure outlets, tourist attractions and entertainment venues. Your key responsibility will be to drive listings, distribution and sales across the product range through the activation of brand visibility and brand support initiatives at the point of purchase. The role will provide plenty of variety and challenge in terms of both customer and product responsibility.

About You

We are looking for graduate calibre individuals with a minimum of c.12 months’ previous field sales experience gained ideally in the drinks brewery / wholesale / foodservice environment. Candidates with pub / bar experience (preferably at a managerial level) or those that have worked in contact centre sales teams will also be considered. Alternatively, you may be a

recent graduate with some relevant sales or marketing work experience gained from an internship or work placement period.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility that will test your influencing skills from day one. To be successful you will need to display a confident, articulate and persuasive personality, combined with passion and a drive for success.
