The most important part of the process is meeting you, the client, in person, to discuss every aspect of the brief be it your training or consultancy needs or type of candidate your looking for i.e. skills, experience, culture fit that you are looking for. We will then recommend and agree with you a course of action and process to achieve a successful outcome in the shortest possible timescale.

If you are applying for a specific job role being advertised by SmithCarey then we will initially read and review your CV in terms of your potential suitability for the job role in question i.e. by taking into account your work and channel experience to date, skills set, location and current salary package. If we feel that you may be a good potential match for what our client is looking for, then we will want to meet you in person and conduct a face-to-face interview to assess your fit for the role at first hand. From that initial meeting if there is agreement between the two of us that you would be a strong potential candidate for the job role and that you feel the role would be a suitable next move in developing your own career road map, then your papers will be forwarded to the client with a recommendation that you go forward for interview.

SmithCarey will support you every step of the way along your journey with the client and you will be treated with respect and total confidentiality, with regular communication from us when there is feedback from the client. We will organise all interviews and timings to suit your availability, and you will receive a full and complete briefing at every stage so you will be clear what preparation is required for a meeting with the client, and their expectations from that meeting.

Of course not every candidate can be successful in the interview process and if that turns out to be the case we will give you very direct, open and honest feedback as to why you haven’t been successful. Also we will always give impartial advice on areas for development so that you can perform at a higher level the next time.

We also take pride in the fact that every candidate who applies for a job role at SmithCarey will receive a reply to their application, even if they haven’t been successful in being granted an interview.
