NATIONAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE – RETAIL
Competitive salary, company car & benefits
Gloucestershire – Agile working pattern
The company
Our client is a highly successful and growing UK division of a European chilled foods group supplying a wide range of European-origin, branded and own-label products into Grocery Multiples, Wholesale, B2B and Foodservice trade channels. Entrepreneurial by nature, the Gloucestershire-based company has a strong ‘people culture’ where individuals are highly valued and are offered real autonomy, empowerment and responsibility in their job roles.
The role
Reporting to the Business Unit Director, you will work as part of the Retail Account Team to support your boss and your Account Manager colleagues. Your responsibilities will include daily/weekly reporting, management of agreed product specs, pricing and new listings within all key customers. You will support and attend trade shows. You will also have responsibility for a retail account, i.e. Booths or Ocado. You will manage all aspects of developing your retail account including building a business plan, managing pricing strategy, NPD, and forecasting. The position is office based, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
About you
Of graduate calibre, you have some practical account executive experience under your belt, circa 2 years, ideally gained within an FMCG environment. Previous dairy, chilled foods or short-life products experience would be an advantage.
Ambitious recent graduates, in e.g. Business or Food Marketing with a year’s placement experience in an FMCG company, will also be considered as our client offers an excellent training programme.
You possess good analytical skills, with a can-do attitude and excellent relationship-building skills. You must be confident liaising across departments, both internal and external to the company. A good level of competency in Microsoft Excel is preferable.
If you think you’ve got what it takes and are keen to kick start your career with a supportive FMCG company, please email your CV to Maria Murphy at mariam@smithcarey.co.uk, quoting reference number MM/2428.
